Wedding favors have been a part of wedding receptions for years and are a way for brides and grooms to say “thank you” for sharing in their day. Favors should be as unique as the bride and groom themselves. They can be a reflection of the bride and groom, something that represent who they are, or perhaps something that is important to them or has a special meaning.

When my daughter became engaged, we embarked on the once-in-a lifetime experience of planning her wedding. It was an amazing time as I watched my little girl prepare to enter the next stage of her life as a young, married woman. Although I teased her about what size tiara I would get to wear as “Mother of the Bride,” I knew this day was really hers and I did everything I could to guide, support and celebrate this milestone in her life and ours as a family.

With all due respect to Spencer Tracy and Steve Martin, neither of these fine actors captured the essence of what it truly means to be the “Father of the Bride.” 

It has to be lived. 

Wedding invitations have come a long way in the last decade. Gone are the days of looking through page after page of simple cardstock and linen papers where your only choices were white or cream and letterpress or thermography. Today’s bride has a variety of choices before her and the wedding invitation has evolved as much as the cake in terms of style and creativity.

“Here comes the bride all dressed in white…” That may be how the song goes but it does not have to be the reality of your wedding day. Of course, your wedding day is one of the only days in your life when it is acceptable to wear an all-white dress, but does everything you wear have to be white? No. You can add some pop and pizzazz into your outfit by incorporating who you are, your style and even your wedding theme into your outfit.
