Boy, oh boy, did we have so much fun the weekends of September 18th and October 9th!  Why, you ask?  Because we got to see couples get competitive, take to the streets of Bloomington and Peoria, and Race for the Rock...a $12,000 Tacori rock from Bremer Jewelry!!! 

BEB was so thrilled to sign on with Bremer Jewelry and Scvngr,a wonderful company who provides all sorts of mobile/app based games. This was about as high tech and as exciting as it gets!

At both races – the participants got text message clues with various places they had to go find and text back an answer to the question…then they got points and got the next clue.  There were up to 65 different locations – so these participants were running around like CRAZY for those two hours!  The top finishers DEFINITELY earned their prizes – this was no joke!

 When they got to the BEB challenge location – they had to flip through the magazine and find a picture of “rings with fruit on top.”  It was a SUPER small picture on page 52 – of course we didn’t tell them what page it was on!  You should have seen them scrambling to find the adorable cherry picture from Shelby Studios!  We just giggled as they kept flipping, getting more and more frustrated as the day went on! 

Peoria Recap – A horribly soggy day – the skies literally opened up right as the challenge started at 11 a.m.  My jeans were completely soaked – all the way up to my kneecaps!  It poured pretty much through the first hour – then it tapered off.  We were down in Civic Center Plaza so we got to see contestants rushing up to us and rushing back off to the next location.  Despite the rain – the energy was amazing!!  Congrats to the winners Abel and Katie!  The cute part here – Abel and Katie signed up together but Katie got called into work so Abel’s best friend had to come with him to participate.  He ended up winning and had to call Katie in front of the other 400 participants as we hung out at Sully’s.  I’d say that’s a phone call you don’t want to miss! 

Bloomington Recap – The polar opposite of the Peoria day, weather wise.  We actually got a sunburn!!!  Who would have thought I’d be sweating and sunbathing at 88 degrees in October!?!?  Another wonderful day – we got to hang out in Wither’s Park next to a beautiful fountain – not a much better way to spend the day, if you ask me!  Participants were super competitive and dripping in sweat, thanks to Mother Nature.  Too bad we didn’t bring bottles of water with us – we would have been their best friends!  Congrats to the winners Colin and Erika!  They traveled up from St. Louis to participate…I’d say it was well worth the drive!
