Although they may not be the center of attention, the centerpieces that adorn your guests’ tables at your reception do deserve careful consideration. While flowers and candles continue to be primary centerpiece ideas, there are plenty of ways to add creativity to your table décor and really dress up your reception. When it comes to centerpieces, think about your theme and/or season. For fall weddings, incorporate bare branches, dried leaves, pine cones and berries into centerpieces. Pine cones can even serve as a cute way to display place cards or table numbers. For winter or holiday weddings, think about incorporating ornaments, or ornate finial tree toppers. Fill vases with things such as sand and seashells for summer and destination weddings, or fresh limes and lemons for spring weddings. Other vase fillers include pebbles, colored marbles, coffee beans, ornaments, petals, or submerged flowers. Place arrangements of flowers in things other than vases, such as watering cans, pumpkins, wine bottles or baskets. Why not place small 8” cakes at each table? Not only is this a creative centerpiece, but it is a different way to serve your wedding cake too! Don’t be afraid to integrate hobbies and interests as well. If you and your groom are total bookworms, place a vase of flowers on top of a stack of books at each table! Take the time to add your own personal touches to every aspect of your wedding. The décor at your wedding should represent who you are as a couple. While these ideas might be great for the center of the table, don’t worry girls- the bride will still be the center of everyone’s attention!
