Escort cards, place cards, seating cards...Whatever you want to call them, these "cards" can be another platform for you to display your creativity and incorporate your wedding colors, theme, or overall feel of your wedding day.
The traditional "tent fold" place cards are probably what is first thought of when deciding upon a way to direct your guests to their table. You can add some of the design elements from your invitations onto the place cards, in order to keep the colors and theme flowing throughout. If you are interested in getting a little creative with the display of your tent fold cards, you can hang them from a ribbon board, antique shutters, with clothespins from string, or with ribbon from tree branches. A recent trend in assigning your guests to their seats is to have an "escort board," which lists the names and which table they are assigned to. Having your escort board made by the same designer as your invitations can ensure that they will compliment each other nicely. Other ideas to display names and table numbers without individual cards is writing the assigned seats with dry erase marker on mirrors or window panes. Keep in mind, veering away from the traditional place cards and using objects such as stones, flowers, leaves, fruit, or anything else you can think of is always an option to add some fun to your big day! We'd love to see what our local brides have come up with--share your photos! :) This escort board was designed by Sara E. Designs. So creative!
