It’s all about the Bride & Groom! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Elizabeth Willey

We have heard many times that a wedding should be all about the bride and groom, but that isn’t always the case. Many Brides and Grooms compromise on details for guests, families, cost … Not this Bride & Groom.

Everyone in attendance felt honored to be part of the ceremony. Kevin & Brie choose to be married on beautiful Lake Tahoe. To describe this couple as adventurous doesn’t do them justice…they mountain bike, paddleboard, and snowboard, all an extreme level. They wanted their ceremony to be at ridge overlooking the valley. The Bride described how special it was that their wedding party of 10 hike two miles together and then meet the guests at the ceremony site.

Having a small guest list, fewer than 40 guests total, made for a very intimate wedding celebration. Everyone truly was there to celebrate the couple and their love. After the ceremony everyone returned to a Lake House and we watched the bride and groom take their paddle boards out for a stroll. After dinner the maid of honor gave a very touching speech of how the bride and groom remind her of the book “the giving tree” and she didn’t leave a dry eye.

At the end of the weekend the groom, Kevin, stated how every minute of his wedding weekend was about celebrating and enjoying friendships, just as he and his wife intended. He has moved a long way from the Central Illinois where he grew up, but has taught family and friends love nature and life a little more.
