Written by BEB

Its your special day and their is one important part missing - a special loved one that has passed away.  Whether it was recent or years ago; its important to remember those that are close to us without letting the memory dampen the celebration of the day.  The BEB team has put together a list of ways to remember your loved ones in a meaningful way without detracting from the joy of the day.

Some ways to remember a loved one:

- Carry a picture of your loved on on your bouquet or as part of your boutonniere

- Wear a piece of jewelry or article of clothing like your mother's veil, father's cufflinks, grandma's pearls, etc.

- Ask your florist to create a secial flower arrangement for the altar.  Include a card with the flowers or text in your wedding program explaining the significance of the arrangement.

- Display pictures of your loved ones on their wedding day or with the bride/groom at the reception.  This is a great conversation piece for your guests while they are waiting for the wedding party to arrive.

- If it was a close loved one like a parent, have an usher walk a rose or other flower down the aisle and set it on the spot where your loved one would have sat.

- Play your loved one's favorite song at the reception or as part of the wedding ceremony.

- Carry your loved one's wedding ring in your handkerchief or as part of your bouquet

- Lighting a memory candle during the ceremony.

- Making a donation to a charity in memory of your loved ones instead of favors.

We hope these ideas help you to find a personal and meaningful way to remember your loved ones on your special day.
