Adding personality to your wedding dress

Feathers“Here comes the bride all dressed in white…” That may be how the song goes but it does not have to be the reality of your wedding day. Of course, your wedding day is one of the only days in your life when it is acceptable to wear an all-white dress, but does everything you wear have to be white? No. You can add some pop and pizzazz into your outfit by incorporating who you are, your style and even your wedding theme into your outfit.

To add a dash of color, throw on a really fun pair of shoes. Try shoes in your favorite color, the wedding colors, or even in a hot print, like zebra or leopard. Shoes with unique embellishments are also a unique idea and a great way to spice up your outfit.

Other ways to add some fun to your outfit can include wearing fun jewelry. Wedding jewelry does not have to be all pearls and diamonds, even though they are classic looks. If you are a statement jewelry kind of girl, then by all means, wear what you really love. Jewelry can really add sparkle and pizzazz to your outfit. Just make sure they compliment you and your dress. Hairpieces are a great idea too. Add a flower or a feathered clip into your hairstyle for a unique and fun look.

If you are having a very traditional ceremony and are having a hard time convincing yourself that it’s okay to walk down the aisle in leopard-print shoes and feathers in your hair, save it for after ceremony pictures and the reception. If you are going to take off your veil, consider adding a fun clip to replace it. Or slip out of your classic shoes and slip into your party shoes!

Keep in mind this is your big day, and a reflection of who you are. You don’t have to spend it all dressed in white. Let your personality shine though with some flair! You don’t want to be looking through your wedding album in twenty years wishing you’d have worn those fabulous shoes, do you?  - BEB
