Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue PDF Print E-mail

Bouquet with PhotoFor her something old, Tami, married in January of 2010, used lace from her mother’s wedding gown and wrapped it around the stems of her fl owers in her bouquet. Cara, married in June of 2010, wore her mother’s veil as her something old. Using items from mothers and grandmothers are very popular (and quite sentimental) for this tradition.

For something new, Melissa, married in January of 2009, wore new earrings and a leopard print bolero! Abby, married in August of 2009, wore new pink skivvies to match her wedding colors – talk about having fun with the tradition!

One of Tami’s bridesmaids loaned her a pair of earrings to wear as her something borrowed. If you are stuck on what to borrow or who to borrow from, don’t forget about your girlfriends! Ask a close friend or bridesmaid for something to borrow, we’re sure they would be more than willing to loan you something fabulous!

Something blue, this trend is incorporated a lot with shoes! Many of our responders said they wore blue shoes. Blue shoes will also add a bright pop of color to your wedding ensemble without being too overbearing. Blue can also be incorporated into a garter, jewelry, hair clip, or other accessory.

Have fun with this tradition, the sky is the limit on what you can use. Check out these beautiful images of the tradition in action!
